Pressure relief valve 3040 is used to relieve pressure for many different technological systems. Automatically maintain a stable desired pressure for the pipeline and tank system by releasing pressure exceeding the set value to a lower pressure system or to the environment. A common application is to install pressure relief for the pump system to ensure stable pump outlet pressure. The valve can be used for continuous or intermittent discharge to protect the system when it exceeds the pressure.

Pressure setting:

Rotate the bolt on the top of the valve clockwise → compress the spring force → increase the set pressure. Rotate the bolt on the top of the valve counterclockwise → decrease the spring compression force → decrease the set pressure. Tighten the locknut bolt after reaching the set value.

 

Working principle:

The inlet pressure of the 3040 pressure relief valve acts on the bottom of the valve screen through a small passage from inside the valve. When the inlet pressure of the pipeline increases beyond the set value, the inlet pressure will overcome the spring force and push the valve to the open position. The valve will close when the inlet pressure returns below the set value.

The higher the inlet pressure, the larger the flow the valve will discharge.
