Light-grey Ertalyte TX (food-grade)

Light-grey Ertalyte TX (food-grade) is a self-lubricating Ertalyte TX PET-P polyester material featuring an internally integrated solid lubricant. Compliant with FDA and EU standards for food-contact materials, it is used to manufacture components subjected to high pressure and high speeds—such as bearings and bushings—without the need for external lubrication.

This FDA-compliant PET material offers superior durability compared to nylon, acetal, and other polyester materials.

Ertalyte TX PET is a thermoplastic polyester with an internal lubricant, providing superior wear resistance and higher chemical inertness than standard nylon (PA) and acetal (POM) products. Thanks to its uniformly distributed solid lubricant, Ertalyte TX PET exhibits lower wear rates and coefficients of friction than unmodified polyesters (such as PET or PBT) and even other internally lubricated materials like Delrin AF Blend. Ertalyte TX PET performs well under both high-pressure and high-speed conditions. It is also particularly well-suited for applications involving soft metal-to-plastic contact surfaces.

Ertalyte TX PET is an excellent choice for dosing systems, where food safety compliance, chemical resistance, and low wear are critical factors. Replacing metal parts with this thermoplastic polyester also helps reduce maintenance costs and eliminates the need for lubrication.

Key applications of Ertalyte TX: food processing equipment, food packaging machinery, self-lubricating bearings and bushings, wear pads and guide rails, rollers, and cam followers.

Key benefits of Ertalyte TX:

Integrated solid lubricant reduces friction

Safe for direct food contact (FDA/EU compliant)

Withstands high pressure and high operating speeds

Safe for contact surfaces made of soft metals and plastics

Low moisture absorption ensures dimensional stability.
