J4C140 ELECTRIC ACTUATOR JJBCN

The J4C 140 is a multi-voltage, quarter-turn electric actuator manufactured by the Spanish company J.J. BCN Internacional, S.A. It is designed primarily to automate the opening and closing of larger, heavier quarter-turn industrial valves, such as ball valves and butterfly valves.

Key Technical Specifications:

Operating torque: 140 Nm

Maximum torque (breakaway): 170 Nm

Operating voltage (S Version): 24–240 VDC/VAC (50/60 Hz)

Operating voltage (B Version): 12 VDC/VAC

Operating time: 34 seconds for a 90° rotation cycle (±10%)

Duty rating: 75%

Enclosure protection rating: IP67 (weather-resistant)

Operating temperature: -20°C to +70°C

                                                                                                                     Weight: 5.2 kg

Key Features:

Brushless Motor Technology: Delivers higher efficiency, minimizes wear, and extends service life compared to traditional brushed motors.

Electronic Torque Limiter: Automatically cuts power to the motor and reverses slightly upon detecting an obstruction, protecting both the valve and the actuator mechanism.

Automatic Anti-Condensation Heater: Features an integrated 3.5W heater controlled by a thermal relay; this unit operates continuously when the device is powered, maintaining an internal temperature above 20°C to prevent moisture accumulation.

Manual operation mode: Features a manual override handwheel combined with an emergency lever and clutch disengagement mechanism, allowing the operator to manually adjust the valve position during a power failure.

Position feedback: Includes two built-in limit switches (microswitches) to stop the motor and two additional auxiliary switches (voltage-free) for remote open/closed position confirmation.

Upgrades & automation:

The J4C 140 series design supports various internal "plug-and-play" upgrade options, including:

DPS (Digital Positioning System): Converts the standard On/Off actuator into a modulating unit capable of accepting 4–20mA or 0–10V control signals.

BSR (Battery Safety Return System): An emergency battery backup system that automatically closes or opens the valve (NC/NO) upon loss of main power.

Communication options: Can be fitted with plug-in industrial modules supporting Modbus or Bluetooth for diagnostics and wireless connectivity.
